Captains Guide
This Guide is to help players who have characters that have either advanced to the Captain rank, or have taken on Canon-based characters that have Captain positions.
1. Captains should interact with their Squad members for story lines and keep up with Board Wide Plots.
For storyline threads, Captains are free to make their own sub-chapter to just about any storyline (though probably more likely for board-wide plots), which involves their character informing his or her squad what's going on. While normally, in the past, this has been happening off screen, we would like to see more command from the Captain players, as well as give a bit more responsibility to these players. This will also help to drive more overall posting.
For Board Wide Plots, it is the Captain Player's Responsibility to MAKE CERTAIN they are up to date with the story. This is very important as squads may be left out due to a Captain not acting/keeping up the movement of the story. Should a player neglect this aspect, it may result in a character being stripped, or a demotion, as it would be the same as a Captain not showing up to a meeting or even, for work. This is one of the Captain's MAIN responsibilities.
2. Captains should remain active for board wide plots.
This is important. Captains are surely needed to help drive stories, for the above reasoning alone. Without Captains, squads would have no idea what to do! Unohana will give Captains their orders, but it is up to the Captain to inform their respective squad on what to do. This will help to keep the story going, and again, help to aid in more overall posts.
3. Captains should delegate the proper responsibility of their Squads.
Captains can't do everything, and don't do everything. What they do is delegate the responsibility onto their peons! Hell, that's what I do! Captains aren't the first ones out on the scene, it's their squad members. When hollows invade Karakura, Byakuya doesn't head down there to wipe them out, he sends Renji, like Ukitake sends Rukia and so forth. As stated above, there should be, at the very minimum, Captain players informing the players of their squad, even through PM, what actions they can take and so forth, of course, in accordance to story lines and the duties brought forth by Unohana.
4. Captains should hold up Squad Activity.
It is a Captain's responsibility to make certain there is activity flowing with their Squad. Players join a specific squad for a reason, and that is to post with that squad. While I understand some Captains, like Soifon or Byakuya wouldn't openly socialize, I can see Soifon holding a monthly training session to 'cut the fat' out of her Squad, and the same with Byakuya and Zaraki. Other Captains can hold their activity within their squad respectively, so long as it remains in character.
5. Captains are not responsible for training or teaching techniques relevant to their Squad or Character.
It is not Byakuya's responsibility to have to teach OC's the mastery of Shunpo, or Soifon to teach Shunko. They do not 'have' to do so, however, should they feel the desire to do so, they may. They must, however, remain in character. Soifon can't just go saying 'Yea, I'll teach you Shunko, random OC' without any proper reason behind it.
6. Captains are responsible for posting a monthly report for their Squad.
There will now be a monthly report for each squad. What will this hold? Well, what do Captains normally post in their reports to the Captain Commander? It can be anything from a serious report in the structure of their Squad, the activity of their squad, and a rough status update to a completely IC-written report for comedic purposes (which you can read in the Captain's Monthly Report Sample that I've made with Kyra). This will help us to keep Captain players active and to see if they are able to handle the responsibility of Captaincy.
7. Captains are responsible for keeping an eye on their active Roster and the Organization List.
Captain players should keep an eye on the Organization Lists, as the staff has to basically ask permission of player Captains before giving off a seat to an applying character. They are allowed to 'Quote' the applicant's post, then address their reply to the seat applicant. This will also help Captains to understand and know who is in their Squad. Captains will be asked for 'Seated' positions only. Players can acquire an unseated position in any squad. However, Captains also have the right to 'kick' a Shinigami out of their squad, so long as they go through the proper process by contacting Unohana (contacting a staff member with a valid reason as to the request of transfer and so forth).
Espada Guide
This Guide is to help players who have characters that have either advanced to the Espada rank, or have taken on Canon-based characters that have Espada positions.
1. Espada are responsible for keeping an eye on their active Roster and the Organization List.
Espada players should keep an eye on the Organization Lists, as the staff has to basically ask permission of player Espada before giving off a fraccion seat to an applying character. They are allowed to 'Quote' the applicant's post, then address their reply to the fraccion applicant. We suggest that applicant players contact the Espada player first to get their permission before applying in the thread.
2. Espada should hold up Activity.
It is an Espada's responsibility to make certain there is activity flowing IC-wise. Players become fraccion for a reason, and that is to post with a specific Espada. While I understand some Espada, like Nnoritra or Ulquiorra wouldn't openly socialize, we would like to see some activity between Espada and Fraccion, even if its just random IC argumentative banter.
